For over 180 years, the Sisters of St. Francis of Penance and Christian Charity have experienced the goodness of God in every year and in every place we’ve ministered. Sisters continue to be laborers in the vineyard, lovingly tending that which God has given them to do … called to be a voice for the voiceless, healing the wounded, and empowering those who struggle under oppression and violence. Their lives are dedicated to the preservation of God’s gift of life, which includes care of our endangered planet. The Sisters within Sacred Heart Community may be small in number, but they are mighty in spirit, living prayerful gospel witness wherever God leads them today and in the future. The Kingdom is here and not yet, but together they follow Jesus in the footsteps of Francis and Magdalen.

Sacred Heart Community Leadership

We are servant leaders called to serve in humility, trust, and generosity.  We practice shared leadership and call forth the “leader in every chair,” by integrating the “sacred circle process” in our gatherings.  We listen to the wisdom of each sister.

We to continue to call forth our mission within our leadership and community and as part of our international congregation.  We actively discern and rely on the Holy Spirit’s guidance.  We believe in and rely on Divine Providence:  God will provide.
